Bio: Big Jake O’Brien won himself a first Ireland cap after a superb season 2023/2024 season with Lyon in Ligue 1.

The Cork City graduate never made a breakthrough at Crystal Palace prior to his move to France, but once given his chance abroad, he took it with two shovel-like hands.

A battling defender and an aerial threat, he could become Ireland’s more athletic version of Shane Duffy in the coming years.
